HANOVER, Md., May 23, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Brekford Corp. (OTCBB:BFDI) ("Brekford" or "Company"), a leading homeland technology service provider of fully integrated vehicle installation services, rugged mobile technology solutions, and automated traffic safety enforcement solutions announced today the signing of a multi-year contract to provide the Town of Morningside Maryland with its School Zone Speed Cameras and related program support services.

Terms of the contract state three (3) years of service with three (3) additional years renewable upon mutual accord and include the installation of both portable and mobile cameras in designated school zones.

The state of Maryland passed legislation in May 2009 allowing municipalities to operate this life-saving technology in school and work zones. For the first 30 days, Morningside Police Department will use the speed cameras to issue warning notices to vehicles exceeding the speed limit by 12 miles per hour or more over the posted speed. After the initial 30-day period of sending out warning tickets, drivers captured speeding will then be issued a $40 speeding citation.

Morningside Police Chief Eugene Mills expects that this program will cut down the number of speed violations in the areas near schools and enhance safety for the kids and citizens alike.

"The Town of Morningside is excited by the opportunity to implement Brekford's speed enforcement technology," stated Chief Mills, adding, "Speed enforcement is as time-consuming as it is critical. With Brekford's technology and support services our children and pedestrians will be safer and our manpower more efficiently utilized throughout the community."

Maurice Nelson, Managing Director of Brekford commented, "We are pleased to be chosen for this contract by the Town of Morningside. Contracts of this nature validate the growing commitment by our communities to increase safety for our children and pedestrians".

CEO for the Company, C.B. Brechin, added, "Today's announcement is evidence of our growth strategy and dedication to the enhancement of shareholder value. We look forward to serving the Town of Morningside for the years to come."
