HeadsUp Entertainment Signs Marketing Agreement With All New Tropicana Las Vegas

CALGARY, Alberta, May 31, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- HeadsUp Entertainment International Inc. (Pink Sheets:HDUP) operators of the Canadian Poker Tour, Canadian Poker Player Magazine and the Canadian Poker Player Television Network today announced it has signed a marketing agreement with the all new Tropicana Las Vegas resort and casino. Under the terms of the agreement the hotel, which just completed a $180 million phase one, South Beach style renovation, will be the home of the CPT during the 2011 World Series of Poker.

"The big news for CPT members is that the hotel will offer special room rates of $50 Sunday through Thursday and $90 Friday and Saturday," said Kelly B. Kellner, President and CEO of HeadsUp Entertainment International Inc. "These are the lowest rates offered by the property. The renovation is amazing and includes the world's largest Nikki Beach, including Nikki Beach Club, Club Nikki, and Café Nikki along with Brad Garrett's Comedy Club and the Las Vegas Mob experience."

Kellner said this is the first step in a longer affiliation between CPT and Tropicana Las Vegas with multiple events and promotions currently under discussion.

"CPT through its 2011 event schedule will see more than 90,000 unique Canadian poker players this year," Kellner said. "We will market the affiliation through email, social media campaigns, web promotions and our own online television network, . This will be an entirely new profit center for the company."

There is a Canadian connection in that the resort and casino is owned by the Onex Corporation, a Toronto based private equity investment firm and holding company.

The renovations of Tropicana Las Vegas, once one of the entertainment centers of the old school Vegas, include new entrances which open to a 50,000 square-foot refurnished, completely transformed casino floor with many new slot machines, blackjack tables and other popular games. Nearly 1,400 rooms in two towers have been redesigned and renovated, three new restaurants have opened and 60,000 square feet of meeting and convention space has been redone. A new spa and front desk are scheduled to be completed by the fall.
