SAN ANTONIO, Texas, June 9, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Please join representatives of Habitat for Humanity of Texas (Habitat Texas) in recognizing the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) for its continuous support of Texas Habitat projects.
Habitat Texas will award FHLB Dallas the Habitat for Humanity of Texas Partnership Award, which is given to organizations in Texas that have demonstrated a long-term commitment to supporting Habitat for Humanity affiliates across the state.
Since 1991, FHLB Dallas, through its member institutions, has awarded $7.8 million in Affordable Housing Program grants to Texas Habitat affiliates, assisting more than 1,400 families. In the past two years, FHLB Dallas has also awarded at least $614,000 to Texas Habitats through its AHP subsidy programs – the Homebuyer Equity Leverage Partnership and Special Needs Assistance Program.
"Over the past 20 years, Habitat Texas has been tapping into the FHLB Dallas resources and we want to highlight just how meaningful this relationship has been," said Habitat Texas Executive Director Matt Hull.
The award will be given during a luncheon at Pico De Gallo, as part of the Habitat for Humanity 2011 Texas Sustainability Conference.
