GREENVILLE, S.C., June 15, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- eRAD, a division of RadNet, Inc. (Nasdaq:RDNT), an industry leader in Web-based RIS, PACS and Teleradiology solutions, announced today that Nyír Holding, one of the largest hospital systems in Central-Eastern Europe, has selected eRAD's image-management and workflow solutions.

The Nyír Holding consists of four hospitals in the counties of Szabolcs, Szatmár, and Bereg. The largest hospital in the health system with almost 1,000 beds is located in the city of Nyiregyhaza. Together, the hospitals of Nyír Holding generate over 250,000+ imaging studies per year.

Zoltan Gyorfi, PhD, eRAD's Managing Director of European Operations, praised the Nyír Holding for its thorough selection process, "The selection process was long and exacting, with many specific workflow requirements. In particular, the health system wished to provide system-wide access to images for all patients, but also operate independently during times of telecommunications interruption." Gyorfi continued, "In this and other aspects, the eRAD system has the ideal workflow capabilities for the Nyír Holding, and we are delighted to embark on this partnership."

"We have hundreds of customers in the United States, where eRAD's capabilities are well known," said Ranjan Jayanathan, eRAD's General Manager. "We are proud to be recognized in Europe as well, and expect to expand our European customer base significantly."
