Authorities arrested a 69-year-old man on Tuesday, accusing him of embezzling $600,000 from a 97-year-old woman and using part of the money to buy himself a 2007 Lamborghini worth nearly $200,000.
Charged with exploitation of the elderly was Joseph Cirillo of Sarasota, Fla., NBC station WFLA TV reported.
Deputies said that since March, Cirillo moved nearly $600,000 from Seidel's financial accounts to his personal accounts. The Lamborghini was purchased in July, deputies said, after Cirillo plunked down two checks totaling $181,229 drawn on accounts to which the victim's money was transferred.
Seidel previously had granted Cirillo authority to oversee her affairs and designated him as the trustee of her living trust.
