Celebrating International Talk Like a Pirate Day, French gamemaker Coladia has slashed the price of its Destination: Treasure Island game for Mac and iOS5 devices. Treasure Island is now available to all for $1.99.
Inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic Treasure Island, the game takes players on a new high seas adventure to find the treasure that Long John Silver has buried on Emerald Island, the retired pirate’s tropical hideaway in the Caribbean.
Players step into the boots of Jim Hawkins who now is a young man of around 20 and running his own shipping business. As Hawkins, players resolve a series of puzzles to progress, including accurate knot tying, building new objects from parts of gathered objects and solving number patterns.
It’s a simple directional game supported by a map for navigation. High resolution graphics that include cartoon frames and full animation sequences, a lyrical soundtrack and ambient noises, offer pirates 12 years and up, a light-hearted, swashbuckling gaming experience.
The game is available in the AppStore and the MacAppStore for a “very limited time” and can be played in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. A PC version is also available, but no price cuts for Windows mateys who’ll pay the full $20.
