Google's handy photo-editing site, Picnik, has closed its Web address and been absorbed into the company's fledgling social network, Google+. While you can still Picnik there, it has some downsides, including an overload of gimmicky "decorations" like vampire eyes and tiaras. Plus you'll have to pay attention to every photo's sharing options — each uploaded photo becomes a part of your Google+ photo stream unless you mark it for your eyes only.   But Picnik fans, or anyone who wants a powerful, free photo editor, need not despair. Instead, try PicMonkey, an improved version of Picnik built by two former Picnik engineers.   PicMonkey offers some goodies that  Picnik  didn't have, such as  Instagram -esque photo filters. It also has image enhancements like the old Picnik, so you can whiten teeth, add a sunless tan and shed a few pounds. Collages are coming, according to the site.   PicMonkey does not store photos. Once you've saved your edited image to your computer, it's off PicMonkey for good. If you want to re-edit a photo, you'll have to upload it again — but that's still less trouble than  managing privacy options  with the downscaled Picnik. However, PicMonkey is everything you liked in Picnik and more — just replace your bookmark and you're good to go.
