Mobile Shopping Soars on Smartphones

In yet another case diminishing the "phone" part of smartphones, online research company comScore reported today (June 4) that a monthly average of 19 million Americans, or 17.4 percent of all smartphone owners, made purchases from their smartphones in February, March and April.

Clothing was the biggest item that people bought from mobile devices, with nearly a third of buyers getting new threads. About a fifth of them bought tickets, electronics and appliances, takeout food, print books and daily deals or other discount coupons.
