UPDATED WITH PRICE
Business is about to pick back up for the "God of War."
Sony has announced a new PlayStation 3 system bundle today, one that will launch alongside the latest release from the action-packed series, "God of War: Ascension." And in true fashion with the game's brutal hero, Kratos, you'll be able to pick up a blood-colored Garnet Red PS3 system to go along with it.
The bundle will include the red PlayStation 3 system and controller (which were previously announced in Japan a month ago), along with a 500 GB built-in hard drive, a 30-day subscription to Sony's premiere PlayStation Plus service (offering a variety of free downloadable games and discounts each month), and a total of six games in the "God of War" series to choose from. "God of War: Ascension," the latest release in the series, is included, taking the protagonist Kratos through a harrowing new journey through his roots. And for the first time in the series, the game has a multiplayer mode, where warriors can battle one another in the hopes of being the first to bring down a subdued titan, who watches in the distance. Also included is the full "God of War Saga" package, which includes the first two "God of War" games in an HD collection (originally released in 2009), the critically acclaimed "God of War III" (which premiered in 2010) and a downloadable voucher for "God of War: Origins Collection," featuring remastered versions of Kratos' PlayStation Portable adventures, "Chains of Olympus" and "Ghost of Sparta."
The bundle will sell for $349.99, when it hits stores on March 12, the same day that "Ascension" releases.
