Former Rep. Joe Walsh, defeated in last year's election, says he can't pay child support because he's unemployed "through no voluntary act of his own." Actually, he's unemployed because he was an offensive windbag.
We here at The Ed Show fight every American to have a good job. When Republicans demonize the unemployed for being lazy, shiftless good-for-nothings, we often take umbrage. But as of now, that changes.
Let me tell you the story of a guy named Joe. He had a good job for the last two years but the Obama agenda got the best of him. Early last November, Joe got a pink slip, and you can blame 100% of it on Democratic polices.
You see, the “regular Joe” I’m referring to is none other than Tea Party wind-bag (and former Congressman) Joe Walsh. Our friends at point out that “Walsh has filed a request in Cook County Circuit Court to cease paying child support payments because he is no longer employed.”
According to a February 1 court filling entitled “motion to terminate child support obligation,” Walsh is jobless.
“Joe’s employment has been terminated through no voluntary act of his own and he is without sufficient income or assets with which to continue to pay his support obligation,” the filing states. “Due to substantial change of circumstances, Joe requests that his child support obligation be terminated based on his present income and circumstances.”
“Has been terminated through no voluntary act of his own””??? Seriously???
There are about a million reasons why Joe Walsh is no longer walking the halls of power, and most of them start with his very own mouth. If it pleases the court I’d like to introduce Exhibit A. September 8, 2012: Walsh attacked Democrats for putting Georgetown student Sandra Fluke on the stage at the Democratic National Convention. Here is the deadbeat dad ranting about it at a campaign stop in Addison, Illinois:
This is just one piece in a big pile of evidence that shows Joe has only himself to blame for having lost his gainful employment.
To be fair, it’s tough to find a job when you’re a washed-up hack of a public servant, but I’m sure Walsh is still qualified to pick up a shift or to at a local greasy spoon. Walsh would make a hell of a Wal-Mart greeter or traveling carney at local county fairs.
I know it’s a tough economy, but Joe, you have to be kidding me. Get a job!
