Last week Jan Brewer made good on a promise to buck her party by vetoing all legislation until lawmakers could negotiate Medicaid expansion into the state's budget.

A little over a year and a half ago Republican Governor Jan Brewer “greeted” President Obama on the Phoenix tarmac. Her “greeting” yielded a photo that would go on to be a viral sensation and fiery conversation starter. But now there is reason to believe that if the president were to disembark Air Force One in Arizona today, their reunion would be plenty warm.

Last week Jan Brewer kept a promise to buck her party by vetoing all legislation until lawmakers could negotiate Medicaid expansion into the state’s budget. You know, the kind of Medicaid expansion that was created as part of .  Brewer’s act of protest is pointed at members of her party who are taking part in a state-by-state effort to resist implementing the Affordable Care Act. Brewer wrote in a letter obtained by AZcentral.com: “I warned that I would not sign additional measures into law until we see resolution of the two most pressing issues facing us: adoption of a fiscal 2014 state budget and plan for Medicaid…It is disappointing I must demonstrate the moratorium was not an idle threat.”

Last week Brewer vetoed 5 bills. And this week the GOP House Speaker has scheduled a vote for the medicaid expansion proposal. Victory. Check out All In with Chris segment on ‘Buckin’ Brewer’ featuring MSNBC’s Jonathan Alter.
