House Republicans on Thursday passed a scaled-down version of a massive farm bill stripping provisions to food stamps and nutrition programs.
Avoiding a major fight on food stamps, House Republicans on Thursday passed a scaled-down version of a massive farm bill after failing to pass one last month. The modified version of the bill strips out funding authorization for food stamps and nutrition programs. The vote was 216-208, with all Democrats voting against it. Twelve Republicans also voted against the bill.
