Brian Chesky and his friend turned their apartment into a bed and breakfast when they couldn't afford rent, and consequently established their multibillion-dollar company, Airbnb.
Brian Chesky has grown his multibillion-dollar company out of unemployment and trust.
Chesky and his roommate turned their San Francisco apartment into a bed and breakfast when they didn’t have enough money to pay a month’s rent in 2007. Now, Airbnb is a $2.5 billion business that rents rooms and residences to people around the world in housing that includes castles, caves, tepees, igloos, tree houses, motor homes, and glass houses.
They also established a trend known as the “sharing economy” where businesses loan services or products to other people. Similarly, RelayRides rents cars from a sharing marketplace and EatWith helps cooks turn their homes into restaurants.
