An advertisement sponsored by the president's Organizing for Action group shows a couple discussing health care savings under the Affordable Health Care Act.
President Obama’s Organizing for Action group is promoting Obamacare on national cable with its third television advertisement.
In the commercial, titled “Every Day,” a couple from Huntersville, N.C., tells a story about how their insurance company gave them a $350 rebate when the Affordable Health Care Act was passed in 2010. The health care premiums for their young son Liam decreased about $60 a month, down from their previous monthly payments of $110.
“It’s nice to see somebody is looking out for the little guy,” the father, Russell, says about his son’s health insurance.
“The law works,” the mother adds.
The president last week said during a press conference that Republicans have made Obamacare their “holy grail.” A number of conservative Republicans like Texas Sen. Ted Cruz have threatened a government shutdown if the law isn’t defunded. They have gathered support from more than a dozen colleagues in the Senate as the country approaches full implementation of the president’s health care policy.
