In a 911 tape released Wednesday, the school bookkeeper talked Michael Brandon Hill out of a shooting and relayed messages to the police about the suspect.
Georgia officials have released the 911 call in which school staffer Antoinette Tuff convinced 20-year-old gunman Michael Brandon Hill to lay down his high-powered rifle and hundreds of rounds of ammunition at McNair Discovery Learning Academy near Atlanta. Tuff can be heard telling the 911 operator, “He said he don’t care if he dies, he don’t have nothing to live for.”
During the 24-minute 911 call, Tuff passed along messages to the police and told officers not to enter the school. She is credited with saving the lives of many children just by talking him out of his plans. At one point she even told him she “loved him.”
