TORONTO (AP) Baltimore slugger Chris Davis hit his 50th home run of the season on Friday night, connecting for a solo shot against Toronto.
Davis matched the Orioles' record set by Brady Anderson in 1996.
Davis became baseball's first 50-homer man since Jose Bautista hit 54 for Toronto in 2010.
Overall, Davis is the 27th player to join the 50-homer club. Davis hit a tiebreaking homer in the eighth inning against All-Star righty Steve Delabar, giving the Orioles a 4-3 lead.
Davis is the third player in major league history to hit 50 homers and 40 doubles in the same season, joining Babe Ruth (1921) and Albert Belle (1995).
