Scarborough to Harry Reid: Cut the gloating, do your job

“Harry Reid should really be quiet and go back and do the job that he was hired to do and at least pass one appropriation bill and then come out lecturing us,” Scarborough said.

“Harry Reid should really be quiet and go back and do the job that he was hired to do and at least pass one appropriation bill and then come out lecturing us,” Scarborough said.

Host Joe Scarborough said Harry Reid needs to quit gloating.

“I hear Harry Reid lecturing John Boehner every day about getting things done and Harry Reid’s Senate that Harry Reid runs. First of all, [the Senate] went four or five years without passing a budget. And this year, with a Democratic president… [the Senate] has passed a total of zero appropriations bill,” Scarborough said on Tuesday’s Morning Joe.

Neither legislative chamber has passed a full-year’s spending bill that had a chance of passing in the other chamber; instead both chambers have focused on passing continuing resolutions (C.R.) to fund the government until mid-December.

“A C.R. is a failure in and of itself that means you weren’t able to get regular order, that means that you couldn’t run your institutor the U.S. Senate or U.S. House without going through the regular process, that it’s so dysfunctional and broken,” Scarborough said.

“My point is not that the Republicans are saints, but please, Harry Reid, go back and pass—“

“What’s on the table right now?” Morning Joe co-host Brzezinski countered.

“A two month temporary C.R. because Harry Reid didn’t do his job in the Senate and because Republicans didn’t do their job in the House,”  Scarborough said. “Harry Reid should really be quiet and go back and do the job that he was hired to do and at least pass one appropriation bill and then come out lecturing us.”
