We need to hear from you, here's how you can comment on stories.

We value our msnbc community so much that we made our reader's comments appear alongside our articles—and not below them. Here's how to publish your comments, and how to make sure that they show up at the top of the section.

1. First, make a profile. My colleague Alicia has written out a handy how-to guide.

2. Once you have an account, you can comment on any article by clicking the "join the discussion" button in the blue Speak Out box to the right of the headline.

3. Next, join a group of your choosing, this can be a member group or an activist organization. Making a comment within a group saves that comment from going into the General Discussion. Simply select the group name from the dropdown menu to the right of the comment box to publish the comment within the group.

4. You'll see notifications of new comments in your group thread appearing in your mymsnbc notifications (at the top of the site) so you'll always be able to go back and continue the dialogue.
