Beyonce, Madonna join telethon; DiCaprio gives $1M

NEW YORK (AP) — Beyonce and Madonna have been added as performers to Friday's multi-network "Hope for Haiti Now" telethon, and Denzel Washington, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and former President Bill Clinton are among the participants. A statement released Thursday said Beyonce would perform from London, and Madonna from New York City. The list of musical performers already includes such heavyweights as Bruce Springsteen, Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake and Keith Urban.

Mischa Barton sued over $7,000-a-month NYC rent

NEW YORK (AP) — Mischa Barton's landlord says the actress is refusing to pay rent on her $7,000-a-month apartment in New York City. Landlord M.R.A. Realties Inc. says in a lawsuit that Barton rebuffed efforts to collect the last three months' worth of rent on her flat in the trendy Tribeca neighborhood.

PARIS (AP) — Rigor and restrained luxury were the names of the game at Louis Vuitton, as the French megabrand delivered Thursday a fall-winter 2010-2011 menswear collection of razor-cut suits in charcoal cashmere and buttery leather. Menswear designer Paul Helbers said he'd looked to turn-of-the-century Vienna for this collection of layered looks with equestrian touches.

Berlin shows highlights street, urban design

BERLIN (AP) — Street and urban wear designers are flocking to Berlin as the German capital — known for stressing shabby chic and original design over the traditional fashion labels — kicks off a week of fashion fairs and shows. The Bread & Butter trade show features 600 designers, labels and brands of street and urban wear. It is being held this year at the city's Tempelhof Airport, which closed to air traffic in October 2008.

Exhibit in Philly explores legacy of women in Pop

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — As radical social changes rocked 1960s America, the contemporary art world remained largely a boys' club that largely ignored female Pop artists as their male counterparts grew to become icons of the era, according to a new exhibit. "Seductive Subversion: Women Pop Artists 1958-1968," an exhibit at the University of the Arts from Friday until March 15, focuses exclusively on the forgotten women of Pop Art and shows about 50 works — some not seen publicly in 40 years — of 20 female Pop artists from the United States and around the world.

Air America Radio closing, filing for bankruptcy

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Air America Radio, a radio network that was launched in 2004 as a liberal alternative to Rush Limbaugh and other conservative commentators, on Thursday shut down abruptly due to financial woes. The network once boasted hosts such as Al Franken and Rachel Maddow, but struggled from the outset, including multiple management shake-ups, a bankruptcy in 2006 and sale for $4.25 million the following year.

Kitty Kelley bio on Winfrey coming in April

NEW YORK (AP) — An Oprah tell-all is coming in April, but Winfrey isn't the teller. Crown Publishers announced Thursday that Kitty Kelley's 544-page, unauthorized "Oprah: A Biography" will be released April 13. The first printing will be at least 500,000 copies.

Rihanna to perform 'Stranded' in Haiti telethon

OSLO (AP) — Rihanna says she will perform a new song called "Stranded" with rapper Jay-Z and U2's The Edge and Bono at Friday's "Hope for Haiti" telethon in London. During the taping of a Norwegian talk show in Oslo on Thursday, the R&B superstar said she feels drawn to the cause because of Haiti's proximity to her home country of Barbados.
