Kristine Johnson joins MSNBC

Kristine Johnson will join MSNBC as an anchor, it was announced today by Mark Effron, Vice President, News, Daytime Programming. Johnson will begin her anchoring duties later this month.

Prior to joining MSNBC, Johnson served as the weeknight news anchor and reporter for WPRI/WNAC-TV in Providence, RI where she reported on live breaking news in the Providence market. She was also responsible for field anchoring from live breaking news events.  Previously at WPRI, she served as a reporter for various New England areas.  Johnson received two Emmy nominations for producing the series “Brendan’s Story” and “Newsmakers.”

Johnson graduated from the University of Nebraska with a bachelor of arts in journalism and minors in political science, history and English.  She resides in New Jersey with her husband Steve and their daughter Ava.
