The ideas that led to the development of virtual reality might be over a century old. For instance the concept of stereoscopics - devices that create the illusion of depth in an image, has been around since the 1830s. Today it’s becoming more mainstream and more immersive as the biggest tech companies rush to develop advanced hardware and software.
