The Idea for Apple’s AirPods Goes Back More Than Six Decades

Ray Bradbury predicted earbuds way back in 1953, with his seminal novel Fahrenheit 451. Since then, a slew of companies have iterated on headphones and finally, earbuds. Last year Apple introduced its wireless earbud design with the AirPods. While Apple is hardly the first or only maker of earbuds, no modern tech company is nearly as ubiquitous - bringing the seashell radios of Bradbury’s pages into the real-world everyday.
