Competition Announced to Be ‘MasterChef’ Winner’s Food Guide

Christine Ha, a visually impaired chef and author is looking, for a food guide to accompany her on a culinary journey in Vietnam.

The "MasterChef" season three winner made the announcement earlier this month on her YouTube channel.

“This December, I’m going to be in Ho Chi Minh City and in Da Nang, and I’m looking for somebody to help me find the best places to eat in these cities while I’m there,” Ha said in her video.

Ha is asking people to submit 30-second video clip to tell her why she should choose them for her guide. "Be as creative as possible, and just show me your personality," Ha said.

Ha, whose blog is called The Blind Cook, was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition in 2003 that left her visually disabled. Much of her work is geared toward helping the visually impaired navigate the kitchen, with an emphasis on how food tastes, smells, and feels.

Ha is also a seasoned traveler and recently traveled to the United Kingdom, which she documented on her YouTube channel and on her blog.

Following her "MasterChef" win, Ha remained involved in the cooking competition series, appearing as a guest judge in season four and as a guest in season six. Ha will also join "MasterChef Vietnam" for its third season, after having appeared as a guest judge in that iteration of the show in previous seasons.
