This fall Ken Jeong will be a doctor who is an actor playing a doctor. ABC ordered “Dr. Ken” as one of three comedies for its fall line-up. Jeong, who broke into acting and comedy playing a gruff but passionate doctor in a small role on “The Hangover”, will play a gruff but passionate doctor for the upcoming multi-camera sit-com.

According to a synopsis from ABC: "Doctor turned actor/comedian Ken Jeong (Community, The Hangover), plays Dr. Ken, a brilliant physician with no bedside manner. He is always trying to be a good doctor, as well as a good husband and dad to his two kids. However, these good intentions have a way of driving everyone crazy at both work and at home. Luckily, his therapist wife Allison is just the right partner to keep things sane.”

Besides Jeong, the show stars Suzy Nakamura as Ken’s wife Allison, Albert Tsai as Dave, and Krista Marie Yu as Molly.

The “Community” star also writes and executive produces the show, along with Jared Stern and Mike O'Connell. John Davis, John Fox and Mike Sikowitz share co-executive producer credits.

ABC ordered a second season of “Fresh off The Boat”, meaning for the first time ever, two Asian-American comedies will be on a major network during prime time.

ABC also ordered “The Muppets” and “The Real O’Neals” to round out its fall comedy season.
