Parvesh Cheena will have a recurring role on season two of the CW’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, according to a report from Deadline. Cheena, also known for playing Gupta in NBC’s “Outsourced,” will play Sunil, a single dad in town who befriends Paula (played by Donna Lynne Champlin). In the past, Cheena has spoken about being an Indian-American actor in Hollywood, who also happens to be gay.

In her Golden Globes acceptance speech for best actress in a television series musical or comedy, "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" lead actress and show creator Rachel Bloom spoke about “how important diversity is if you want to tell a new story.”

"Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" is currently nominated in four categories at the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards. Bloom is nominated for individual achievement in comedy at the Television Critics Association Awards, and the program is also nominated for outstanding achievement in comedy and outstanding new program at the same awards. Season two of "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" is scheduled to premiere on the CW network on Oct. 21.
