Iron Fist, the Marvel superhero set to feature in Netflix and Marvel's fourth series collaboration, has a face. According to a report from Entertainment Weekly today, British actor Finn Jones, who plays Ser Loras Tyrell in HBO's "Game of Thrones," has been cast as the lead character of the upcoming "Marvel's Iron Fist" Netflix series.
Jones will play Danny Rand, who in the comics spent a decade in the hidden city of K'un-L'un learning martial arts to avenge the death of his parents.

Before Jones' casting was announced, some Marvel fans had argued that an Asian-American actor should be cast to play the character, using the hashtag #AAIronFist.

Casting Rand as Asian American, advocates said, would have buried the age-old trope of "a white guy becoming a better Asian than the Asians," Keith Chow, the founder and editor of Nerds of Color, told NBC News last December.
