A giant panda born in captivity two years ago was released into the wild at a nature reserve in southwestern China on Tuesday.

Xue Xue, who underwent extensive training to prepare for the move, is the fourth artificially-bred giant panda to be released in China, according to local media reports cited by Reuters. Video footage showed her initially appearing reluctant to leave her cage, but eventually she took her first steps into the wild.
