An adult film star from Idaho could face 10 years in federal prison after she pleaded guilty to trying to hire a hitman to kill the father of one of her children.

The woman, Katrina Lynn Danforth of Post Falls, Idaho, near Spokane, Washington, pleaded guilty Monday in U.S. District Court in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, to two of five counts of illegal use of interstate commerce — specifically, telephones and mail — in commission of a murder for hire.

According to the plea agreement, Danforth sought to hire a hitman to kill a man identified only as R.H., who was described as the father of one of her children. When she discussed the plan with an acquaintance, that person gave her a phone number that belonged to an undercover police officer.

Danforth met with the officer in October and arranged to pay him $5,000 to kill R.H. According to the plea agreement, "she had specific requirements that the hitman was to accomplish" — R.H.'s body had to be easily discoverable, and she "did not care if others who lived in the home were harmed" as long as it wasn't her child.

The next month, according to court documents, Danforth mailed the undercover officer a thank you card with $2,500 in it as "the down payment for the hit."

Danforth was indicted on Dec. 18 and arrested by the FBI in Washington the next day. She is scheduled to be sentenced in Coeur d'Alene on Dec. 2.

In May, Rebecca Anne Eberlein, Danforth's roommate, pleaded guilty to a felony for having allowed Danforth to use her car for meetings with the undercover officer while knowing what the meetings were for, according to federal court documents. Sentencing is set for Oct. 1.
