Tulsa Family of Four Found Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide: Cops

A 42-year-old father of two is believed to have fatally shot his wife and children in their Oklahoma home before ending his own life, police said Wednesday.

Tulsa police discovered four dead bodies in the Stone Creek Farms neighborhood while performing a wellness check at the residence at about 3:30 p.m. local time (4:30 p.m. ET) after being notified that the two adults had not been to work in two days. The bodies were found in different rooms throughout the house and were determined to be the man, his 38-year-old wife and their two sons, ages 6 and 10, police said.

Officers recovered a handgun and found evidence of multiple gunshots through the house. Authorities believe the evidence indicates that the father shot and killed his wife and children before he turned the gun on himself.

Police did not identify any members of the family and have not released a motive for the shooting.

"At this time, without a note, without any history we can find, based on what neighbors are saying, there's just no precedent of why this would happen," Police Captain Matt McCord told NBC Affiliate KJRH.
