Dozens of flood-affected Kashmiri residents clashed with police Wednesday in the capital of Srinagar, demanding rehabilitation in protests that turned violent as Indian authorities intervened.

Monsoon rains caused massive floods in Kashmir last month, with at least 420 confirmed deaths in the region, and billions of dollars in damage to homes and infrastructure, leaving residents frustrated at the lack of government response.
