1. Usain Bolt Cements Legacy With Third Gold in 100 Meters

The world’s fastest man proved that he is still, well, the world’s fastest man. Usain Bolt won his third consecutive Olympic 100m gold medal Sunday night in front of an adoring crowd in Rio’s Olympic Stadium. The Jamaican sprinter pounded his chest as he crossed the finish line in 9.81 seconds. It was his slowest time in his three Olympic 100m finals, but it was fast enough to beat Justin Gatlin by .08 seconds. Read more in SPORTS.

2. One Person Shot in Second Night of Unrest in Milwaukee

At least one person was shot and an officer was injured in Milwaukee late Sunday during a second night of violent protests over a fatal police shooting. Police said angry crowds pelted officers with rocks, concrete and debris after authorities declared the gathering in the Sherman Park neighborhood of Milwaukee an unlawful assembly and threatened arrests. 3. Flooding in Louisiana Far From Over

While torrential rains were expected to ease in flood-ravaged Louisiana on Monday, forecasters warned the threat was far from over. Louisiana has been hit by a deluge of rainfall since last week, with at least four people dead and thousands of homes damaged by historic floods. Read more in WEATHER.

4. U.S. Swimmer Ryan Lochte Robbed at Gunpoint in Brazil

U.S. Olympic swimmers Ryan Lochte, Gunnar Bentz, Jack Conger and Jimmy Feigen were robbed at gunpoint while in Rio de Janeiro overnight Saturday, NBC News has confirmed. Following conflicting reports — including the IOC denying any incident took place — Lochte himself confirmed with TODAY's Billy Bush that he and the other swimmers were robbed at gunpoint. 5. Suspect Detained in Murders of NYC Imam, Assistant

Police were questioning a suspect early Monday in the brazen broad-daylight killings over the weekend of a local imam and his assistant in New York City, sources told NBC News. The man, who police say matched a description of the shooter, was detained while returning to a vehicle near the scene of the killings, the sources said. Read more in NEWS.

7. Fifth Body Found, 8 Missing From Montgomery County Apartment Explosion

Montgomery County officials said a fifth body has been found in the rubble of an explosion and fire of an apartment building in Silver Spring, Maryland. Police said a fifth victim was found on Sunday afternoon. Read more at NBC WASHINGTON.
