In an interview with MSNBC host José Diaz-Balart on Monday, the president of the National Council of La Raza Janet Murguia called Republican presidential hopeful Donald and business mogul Trump "very divisive."

Though Murguía did agree that “we need to fix a broken immigration system,” she did not agree with Trump's recent comments.

Murguia combated Trump’s statements regarding immigration from Mexico by saying, “It’s just not true,” adding in facts from Pew Research Center that said migration from Mexico into the U.S. was at a "standstill."

“So, for Donald Trump to be trying to stir emotions in a very negative way is not positive, it's divisive, and it's not going to create solutions,” said Murguia. “And all Americans, including Hispanic Americans, want leadership and they want solutions. And instead, he's creating division, so for us, it is absolutely offensive to hear this kind of talk.”
