First Brandy, then NeNe Leakes and now Eddie George.
The former NFL football player and Fox Sports 1 college football analyst Eddie George is the newest celebrity to join the cast of Broadway's Chicago. He'll be stepping into the role of Billy Flynn, the fast-talking, capricious lawyer of the headline-making female prisoners at Cooke County Jail.
While this may seem unexpected, it's not. George has established himself as a thespian for years now. His previous roles include Othello in 2014 and Julius Caesar in 2012, both at the Nashville Shakespeare Festival, Suzan-Lori Parks’ Topdog/Underdog at the Amun Ra Theatre in 2010 and Matthew Lopez’s The Whipping Man at the Nashville Repratory Theater in February 2015.
George spoke to "60 Minutes Sports" about transitioning to acting after football and playing two of Shakespeare's most renown characters.
Eddie George's run will begin Jan. 11, 2016 and end Feb. 28, 2016.
