Fox is finally putting out a reboot to its hit action-packed series “24” which followed the life of counterterrorism agent, Jack Bauer, portrayed by Kiefer Sutherland. The new show in the franchise called “24: Legacy” will feature “Straight Outta Compton” and “The Walking Dead” star, Corey Hawkins in the male lead role.
The show, which will be written by “24” veterans Manny Coto and Evan Katz, features a brand new cast and Hawkins is to star opposite of a female lead, who has not been named yet.
“24: Legacy” will have the same structure as the original series, following a day in the life of Hawkins’ character, Eric Carter. Carter plays a strong and smart guy with a rough background who turned his life around once he joined the Army Rangers.
He is a military hero who has finally returned home to his wife, Virginia, and seemingly a normal life, but trouble follows him. He must ask the Counterterrorism Unit for help and stop what could potentially a large-scale terror attack on American soil.
Corey Hawkins is most recently noted for his role as Dr. Dre in “Straight Outta Compton”, but the Julliard grad has also appeared on Broadway’s revival of “Romeo and Juliet” as Tybalt. He is also currently filming “Kong: Skull Island” with an all-star cast, along with Samuel L. Jackson.
The clock is counting down, can’t wait to see Hawkins in “24: Legacy”.
