After a very difficult year for the comedian and actor, Tracy Morgan will make his triumphant return to the Saturday Night Live stage this weekend as host.
In June 2014, Morgan was involved in a horrible car accident that left him in a coma for two weeks and a fellow comedian dead.
During an interview with Matt Lauer on TODAY in June, Morgan spoke of the challenges in his recovery and declared that he "would get back to making you laugh."
It's clear he intends to keep that promise and so to commemorate his return to the old stomping ground, we've collected some of our favorite Tracy Morgan moments.
"Hustle Man" - Martin
Way before Tracy Morgan appeared on SNL and 30 Rock, he was already a household name--but with one exception. Viewers didn't exactly know him by his given name, but as "Hustle Man" on the FOX sitcom, "Martin."
If this industrious character has slipped your memory, let me put it this way: Have you ever been to a hair salon or barbershop where that one salesperson consistently comes in to peddle a purse or some ridiculous item? Well "Hustle Man" was that person in Martin's apartment complex, times 10.
"Ms. Tucker" - The Longest Yard
Remember the Texas Federal Prison football cheerleaders in the 2005 remake of "The Longest Yard?" Tracy Morgan was the cheerleader captain and his squad would always come up with the most hilarious and sexual innuendo-filled cheers.
"You Better Call Simone" song
Here's a younger Tracy Morgan doing stand-up about there being much focus on men who cheat, but not the women. So Morgan takes it upon himself to remix the song "Tryone," the Erykah Badu classic dedicated to her unfaithful man, and calls it "Simone."
Honestly, he should have released this as a single. It's pretty good.
"Werewolf Bar-Mitzvah" - 30 Rock
This is for all of the 30 Rock fans. The song "Werewolf Bar-Mitzah" has become fully integrated in pop culture and a favorite around Halloween. In an episode, Morgan's character, Tracy Jordan, shows off his gold record for his Novelty Party song.
The scene immediately cuts to a music video clip of Jordan wearing Michael Jackson's "Thriller" leather red suit, covered in werewolf makeup and fur.
The entire music video isn't on YouTube, but we managed to find the song!
The Maya Angelou Impression
Last but not least, Morgan's SNL impersonations have always been A1.
In this clip, Morgan embodies Maya Angelou during Weekend Update. Because Angelou has a low voice, with a twinkle of bass, the impression is almost uncanny.
Listen to Morgan's impression of Maya Angelou as he describes her new collection of Hallmark cards.
