Explosion in central Paris kills one, leaves three missing

An explosion in a central Paris parking garage has left one person dead, one injured and three people missing, police said.

The blast occurred at 4 p.m. local time (10 a.m. ET) on the first floor of the three-story parking garage, a spokesman for Paris police said.

Police think the explosion triggered as workers were fixing a fuel tank, the spokesman said.

He added that all of the people involved were civilians, but nothing more about their identity is known.
