Joe Biden says son Beau is doing 'fine'

Vice President Joe Biden said Friday that his son Beau is doing "fine" following a brief hospitalization and medical procedure earlier this week.

Appearing in his hometown of Scranton, Pa. with President Barack Obama, the vice president said his son was doing well back at home, and couldn't wait to return to work.

"Things are good at home in Delaware. My son Beau's fine -- sends his love," the vice president said.

Beau Biden, the attorney general of Delaware, had been hospitalized at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas for tests after experiencing weakness and disorientation last weekend while on vacation. He had experienced a mild stroke in 2010.

Beau Biden underwent a "successful" procedure on Wednesday, the vice president's office said.
