Obama agenda: Report: U.S. cuts off aid to Egypt temporarily

Josh Rogin: “The U.S. government has decided privately to act as if the military takeover of Egypt was a coup, temporarily suspending most forms of military aid, despite deciding not to announce publicly a coup determination one way or the other, according to a leading U.S. senator. … The office of Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT), the head of the appropriations state and foreign-operations subcommittee, [said] Monday that military aid to Egypt has been temporarily cut off.”

“Beau Biden, the Delaware attorney general and the son of Vice President Joe Biden, is undergoing medical testing in Texas after being hospitalized last week for weakness and disorientation, his office said Monday night,” AP reports. “The younger Biden, who suffered a mild stroke in 2010, began experiencing the new symptoms last Wednesday night after driving to Indiana for a family vacation, said Jason Miller, a spokesman for the Delaware Department of Justice.”

The vice president had two brain aneurysms in 1988 that ended his presidential bid that year. He was 45. Beau Biden is 44.

The Obamas got a second dog, another Portuguese water dog, named, “Sunny.”

“Caroline Kennedy has a personal fortune of up to $275 million, according to recently filed financial disclosure forms that she was required to submit as a result of her nomination to be US ambassador to Japan,” AP writes.

Pew: 51% think aid to Egypt should be cut off and 50% think Obama’s response to violence in Egypt has not been tough enough.
