For many of us who live and work in New York, seeing the rise of One World Trade Center means a lot, and it got us thinking — what’s your meaningful space?

We want to see it. Is it your school, your church, a ballpark, or maybe it's the place where you met your best friend? Please take a picture of your favorite place, tell us why it’s important to you and tag it #MeaningfulSpace on Instagram or Twitter. We’ll feature our favorites on the NBC News Instagram account and more on PhotoBlog next Monday.

Our first entry comes from Jim Collins, NBCNews.com Director of Photography. Collins has this to say about his image:

“Seeing Tower One rise out of the ashes of ground zero in the last few years has been an amazing sight – not because I think it’s this great example of modern architecture, but because it’s become a powerful symbol of resilience and recovery.

As I photographed the twin towers falling on Sept. 11, I never imagined that one day I’d casually be able to aim my phone toward lower Manhattan and record this powerful symbol.”
