Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, who became an international punchline after admitting he smoked crack, is joining a U.S. sports radio show with a name that should delight late-night comedians: "Sports Junkies."

Washington D.C.'s WJFK said Ford will be calling in every Thursday morning to talk about sports and give NFL picks.

Ford got the new gig two weeks after his Canadian TV show was canceled — which aired just once while the City Council was in the process of stripping the mayor of most of his powers.

The 44-year-old is a huge football fan who roots for the Toronto Argonauts, a team that suggested he should stay away from their playoff game after he made sexually graphic comments on live television while wearing their jersey.

He was spotted at a Buffalo Bills game last weekend, but even that was mired in controversy when a fan tweeted that Ford had stolen his seat.

Allegations that Ford was caught on video smoking crack surfaced in May, but the scandal exploded in October when police revealed they had obtained a copy of the tape.

Since then, Ford has admitted he smoked crack in a boozy stupor, bought drugs and drove drunk, but he refused to resign. Lawmakers instead took away much if his budget, staff and responsibility at an emergency meeting where the mayor accidentally knocked down a female politician.
