Police in China found a tiger's dead body after they intercepted two men loading a suspicious sack into a van in the city of Wenzhou, Reuters reports.

One of the men was detained on suspicion of illegally trading in an endangered species, according to a report in The New York Times, while the other man fled.

Initial examination showed the animal was an adult Siberian tiger.
