A family runs away from tear gas during clashes between Egypt's security forces and supporters of ousted President Mohammed Morsi in Cairo on Friday.

Morsi supporters held sporadic protests against this week's referendum in which Egyptians overwhelmingly approved a new constitution, according to figures reported by state media.

The widely expected outcome nudges army chief General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi ever closer to a bid for the presidency.
