Rapa das Bestas or the Shearing of the Beasts is an ancient tradition in Mougas, northwestern Spain, dating from the 15th century. It consists of gathering the wild horses in the mountains, placing them in a 'curro' or corral, shaving them and branding them before releasing them in the mountains until next year.
