Eastern Orthodox Christians believe the Holy Fire is a miracle that occurs every year at the church when a blue light is said to emanate from within the Tomb of Christ and quickly spreads around the church and outside to Jerusalem and even to foreign countries. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre stands on the site where many Christians believe Jesus was crucified, entombed and resurrected.
