After Donald Trump scored a historically stunning upset over Hillary Clinton, many shocked Clinton supporters turned to Twitter to vent, using now-viral hashtags like #NotMyPresident and #ImStillWithHer to loudly demonstrate that they are very much against the Republican.
In fact, #NotMyPresident was used on Twitter more than 490,000 times between 7 p.m. on Tuesday through mid-morning on Wednesday. #ImStillWithHer or #StillWithHer was used more than a combined 142,000 times. Some even seized on the idea of seceding from the U.S., using #Calexit 48,000 times as a play off of so-called Brexit when the United Kingdom voted earlier this year to leave the European Union.
The range of feelings ran the gamut — from panic, to disbelief, to fear, to anger, to hope that Americans will not give up and continue to fight for change.
