Charles Vacca, the Arizona shooting range instructor who was accidentally killed by a 9-year-old girl who was learning how to shoot an Uzi, was hit by only one bullet, a single gunshot wound to the head that was fatal, the coroner NBC News on Thursday.
Clark County Coroner Mike Murphy said an autopsy report on Vacca, 39, wasn't yet complete, but he confirmed the that Vacca was hit by just the one round and that it was the "immediate cause of death." Vacca was teaching the girl how to use the automatic weapon Monday morning at the Last Stop outdoor shooting range in White Hills, Arizona, when she pulled the trigger and the kickback caused the gun to lurch over her head, investigators said.
