An Army sergeant who barricaded herself in an office and shot herself at Fort Lee in Virginia has died.
Military officials did not immediately identify the soldier, who died at a hospital. On Monday, the post was briefly locked down after a report of an active shooter. A commander said later that the sergeant, who had 14 years in the Army and served in Iraq in 2007, turned the gun on herself after negotiations with soldiers. He said there was no information on what led the soldier to shoot herself.
