The mayor of a tony Southern California community who was caught on surveillance camera flinging a bag of dog poop into a neighbor's yard has stepped down, officials said Tuesday.
Dennis Kneier, the mayor of the affluent neighborhood San Marino, resigned amid criticism as well as threats of a lawsuit and a fine, according to NBC Los Angeles.
San Marino, a town just south of Pasadena, has a population of roughly 13,000 people. In 2010, Forbes Magazine ranked the city the 63rd most expensive area in the United States.
