Police identified the gunman who fatally shot four people and himself at a home west of Atlanta, Georgia. Officers with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office found multiple people with gunshot wounds while responding to a 911 call on Saturday afternoon.
Authorities have determined the gunman to be 33-year-old Cedric G. Prather. He was taken to a local hospital but later succumbed to injuries from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the sheriff’s office.
Latoya A. Andrews, 33, and Joseph Terry Brown, 33, died at the scene in Douglas County along with a seven-year-old child, officials said. Neighbors told NBC station WXIA that Prather was Andrews' estranged husband.
Three other juveniles, ages eight, nine, and 15, were shot at the home and transported to an Atlanta area hospital. The nine-year-old later died. The teen and the eight-year are in critical condition but stable.
