A masked, costumed man with a swastika tattoo on his forehead was arrested after a disturbance at a gas station convenience store in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, police said Friday.
Michael Carter, 36, was detained shortly before 8 a.m. local time (9 a.m. ET) Wednesday after refusing to leave a Kum and Go store and locking himself in the bathroom.
A worker called police, who said Carter became abusive to officers, Broken Arrow Police Department told NBC News. He was eventually arrested for obstruction, which is a misdemeanor charge in Oklahoma,
He was wearing a red costume featuring a mask and had previously been seen in other businesses including a Whataburger.
Police said Carter is not a resident of Broken Arrow “and appears to have just been traveling through the town.” He is being held in the Tulsa County Jail.
“Many people don't believe this stuff ever happens, but it does,” the department said on its Facebook page.
